Dr Amir Emadian PhD, MSc

Amir’s academic career began in 2010 when he completed his Master of Science degree in Nutrition from King’s College London. His passion to apply his work as a nutritionist and expand into the fitness industry led to him obtaining his Level 3 personal training qualification. After this, he worked for commercial gyms as a Person Trainer as well as continuing his work with his private nutrition clients. His ability to create tailored-made evidence-based plans for his clients proved highly effective in helping them achieve their goals.
With a hunger to expand on his understanding the effects of diet and exercise on the human body, Amir started his PhD work in 2013, and in 2017 he was awarded his Doctorate in Nutrition & Physical Activity.
His research focused on dietary and physical activity interventions in the prevention and management of Type 2 Diabetes in overweight/obese subjects. His research involved conducting workshops across London in community centres educating the public about the role of diet and exercise in reducing disease risk while collecting data for his research. Throughout this period Amir conducted health screenings, nutrition and physical activity assessment from participants across a wide range of backgrounds. Amir’s research has been published in prestigious scientific journals such as the British Journal of Nutrition, BMJ-Open and International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
Being an educator Amir thrives on bringing scientific knowledge to the general public, in partnership with this he worked as a lecturer at the University of Birmingham teaching on ‘Public Health Nutrition’ and ‘Health Psychology’ modules to undergraduates. In connection with his research work, Amir was a speaker for the Diabetes UK giving educational talks across community centres in London.
